Missing my friend…
It's mid-September and I haven't seen the beaver in a long while. I actually miss him. These feelings of longing remind me of my other lost friendships, not with critters but with people. The pandemic has completely restructured my ‘habitat’. One day I am out doing a lot of fruitful foraging, and then the next I find I have no safe, familiar place to return.

As the sun began to brighten the morning sky, two geese quietly swam past the dock. I happened to have some bread with me, so I tossed out a few pieces. Wary and alert to any sign of danger they approached cautiously. The smaller of the two, I assume the female, finally came close enough to stretch her neck out and scoop up a piece of bread. Little Signs of Hope
A Message from the Director of the Catholic Conference Center: Early each morning I go outside to pray. Last week just as I settled in my chair it started raining. A little annoyed, I turned around to go back inside. On my way, I looked up and saw a rainbow in the sky. The next morning, it happened again the same way – settled in the chair, then the rain, and then a second rainbow in the sky. God was certainly trying to tell me something.
